A simple design change with the potential of saving Atlanta drivers a combined year’s worth of travel time every day took home the civil and environmental engineering top prize at the Georgia Tech Capstone Design Expo April 24.
The winning civil and environmental engineering project at this fall 2017 Capstone Design Expo doesn’t sound especially groundbreaking on paper. But in reality, it’s the kind of work that demonstrates the power engineers have to shape — and in this case, protect — communities.
SEVEN Engineering’s site development plan for a proposed medical office building in Cobb County, Georgia, won the top prize among civil and environmental engineering teams at the spring 2017 Capstone Design Expo. The team was one of seven to present their project at the campus-wide senior design showcase.
For only the second time, teams from the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering will be participating in Georgia Tech’s Capstone Design Expo April 26. The event gathers seniors from disciplines across campus who are completing projects in their senior design or capstone design courses. Four teams of CEE students will be among them this year.
Among the nearly 200 teams at the spring 2015 Capstone Design Expo April 23 will be two groups from the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering — the first time CEE is represented at the huge display of senior design projects from across Georgia Tech.
