CEE student Laura Yang has been selected for the 2021 Sigma Xi Best Undergraduate Research Award, one of Georgia Tech’s highest honors for an undergraduate researcher.
Sigma Xi has recognized the work of two recently graduated civil and environmental engineering doctoral students as some of the best of the year at Georgia Tech.
Georgia Tech’s scientific and engineering honor society has recognized Despina Tsementzi’s doctoral dissertation as one of the best of the year. Tsementzi, who finished her Ph.D. in the fall, has won the Sigma Xi Best Ph.D. Dissertation award for 2017. She’s one of only 10 students across campus to earn the distinction.
Senior April Gadsby has won one of Georgia Tech’s highest honors for undergraduate researchers, the Sigma Xi Best Undergraduate Research Award. Gadsby, who will start on her master’s degree in May through the BS/MS program, has been working with James Tsai on intelligent and sustainable infrastructure asset management, including co-authoring a paper on a new method of preserving pavement.
Brittany Bruder’s work assessing tidal energy around a small island in coastal Georgia has won Sigma Xi’s award for the best Ph.D. dissertations this year at Georgia Tech.
The Sigma Xi Society has announced its 2015 research award winners, including three graduate students from the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
