Hurricanes vs. Stadiums: Stewart explains why the massive structures can withstand storms

With Hurricane Matthew looming, college football programs throughout the Southeast had to consider the impact of the massive storm on their scheduled games Oct. 8. Two games has to be postponed — one indefinitely — prompting the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s SEC Country website to ask what would happen to a stadium in a major hurricane.

Capstone Expo teams present road studies, wind-tunnel tests, police HQ designs

The four projects School of Civil and Environmental Engineering teams will present at the 2016 Capstone Design Expo.

For only the second time, teams from the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering will be participating in Georgia Tech’s Capstone Design Expo April 26. The event gathers seniors from disciplines across campus who are completing projects in their senior design or capstone design courses. Four teams of CEE students will be among them this year.
