Dr. Hang (Lucas) Dong joined Georgia Tech-Shenzhen as an assistant professor in Environmental Engineering in 2022, and he is also the adjunct assistant professor of Environmental Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Before joining GT-Shenzhen, he worked for three years as a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Stanford University. He received his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering in 2019 at Lehigh University. His research focuses on developing low carbon selective separation (LOCSS) technologies to address environmental challenges. The current focus of his lab is on designing new materials, processes, and systems for (1) CO2 capture, utilization, and sequestration (CCUS) to facilitate carbon neutrality, and (2) resource recovery from waste to boost the transition towards a circular economy.
