Congratulations to Dr. Jaehong Kim for his recent appointment to the Georgia Power Distinguished 
Professorship in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Georgia Tech*.
The Georgia Power Professorship is awarded to a faculty member whose research and teaching impacts the power industry. Dr. Kim joined Georgia Tech in 2002 and has held the Carlton S. Wilder Professorship since 2009. His teaching and research have been recognized at Georgia Tech as well as internationally through numerous awards such as the Paul L. Busch Award from the Water Environment Research Foundation (2009), the Excellence in Research Award from the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Georgia Tech (2009), the Excellence in Review Award from Environmental Science & Technology (2009), the Editor's Award from ASCE's Journal of Environmental Engineering (2004), and the CETL/BP Junior Faculty Teaching Excellence Award from Georgia Tech (2007). Most recently, Dr. Kim was recognized by the American Chemical Society as having the Top Environmental Technology paper published in 2011.
