Georgia Tech continues to provide best-in-class graduate education for civil and environmental engineers.
The 2021 list of engineering specialty programs from U.S. News and World Report released March 17 keeps both of the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering’s graduate programs among the top five in the nation — extending a streak of distinction going back more than two decades.
According to the report, the civil engineering graduate program is ranked third and the environmental engineering program is fifth.
“It is extremely gratifying that our graduate programs continue to be highly recognized nationally,” said Donald Webster, Karen and John Huff School Chair of the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, “As always, we strive for excellence in addressing our mission to pursue cross-disciplinary research, service-based learning, and innovative course content and delivery.”
The civil engineering graduate program rose one spot from last year’s rankings to tie with Stanford for third. Environmental engineering fell a spot to fifth, tying with UT-Austin. U.S. News bases its rankings of engineering disciplines on surveys of department heads around the country.
Every graduate degree in the Georgia Tech College of Engineering is a top-10 program for the eighth year in a row in the U.S. News rankings.
