
Dr. Robert Simon serves as an Academic Professional for the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE). In this unique hybrid role, he administers certain aspects of academic operations and program development while also contributing to the undergraduate Global Engineering Leadership Minor and supporting other courses involving engineering leadership, innovation, and organizational effectiveness. Dr. Simon earned his Ph.D. in 2018 from Clemson University, where he studied the experiences of university faculty adopting new administrative technologies. He joined the School in July 2012 as Graduate Programs Manager, where he was responsible for administration of student and academic services for the School’s graduate programs. Dr. Simon has 14 years of experience in higher education, including administrative positions at three major research universities. He has worked in training and development of academic staff, curriculum and assessment, student and faculty services, enterprise implementation, and policy. His primary scholarly interests include institutionalism and legitimacy, critical study of organizational behavior, and technological innovation within organizations.
